Firmware updates the software in your burner, and *may* fix some problems. 
Unless you are absolutely sure you have the firmware for your *exact* 
burner, it may cause a problem.

There is no restore points for burner firmware. Firmware is in your burner, 
not in your computer or the OS.

Looks like the burner's driver. Which is not firmware. Since Softpedia seems 
to confuse things up, I would not trust them. For your model LDW-411S there 
is a firmware upgrade available from Lite-On directly at 
http://www.liteonit.eu/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=178 but it seems 
to be the same one you already found. But you may want to read their 
instructions and info.
