Thank you for even some more useful information (smile) -- I'll do as you suggest. I tried an experiment this morning and used a JVC disc to burn backup data from my hard drive. It burned perfectly. You might be right that it's my player. A good blind-test is to do the same with a couple of JVC discs as well.
