I went to that page and downloaded the ZIP file. Which seems to be a firmware upgrade for my Drive of 518.09 kb dated 03/22/2006 So what do I do now -- do I update this firmware or is what's below what I need? And if this isn't it, wouldn't a restore point work? Here is the page I got from google -- it calls it firmware-driver http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FIRMWARE/Lyra/LiteOn-DVDRw-LDW411S-firmware-101.shtml or if that breaks up: http://tinyurl.com/2z5m29 which then takes me to this page on softpedia.com's site: http://tinyurl.com/2hjh5u but I can't get it to download :-( It's the version for the DVD Drive because right now my computer is using one of MS from 2001 Judith ________________ http://www.liteonit.com.tw/global/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=154 There is a firmware update available here that is dated March 22, 2006. Are you sure the terminology used was "firmwware driver"? Firmware and drivers are usually two different pieces of software. The firmware would be internal to the drive (like the BIOS in a computer) while the driver is internal to the computer operating system. Please make sure that you *know* what you are downloading and installing. A mistake installing a driver is easily corrected. A mistake installing firmware could render the drive totally useless. Also, follow the link to the instructions for installing the firmware update.
