You have the left overs from the viruses. There are fixes that you have to make in the Registry for some of them. Did you keep track of the virus that she had? More importantly, figuring the cost of the time spent doing this, wouldn't it be easier to wipe the computer and reload? Usually the machine is going to run a lot better anyway with a clean registry and most people are usually interested in only their data which is usually easy to copy off and back on. Just a thought. She had several viruses which I have fixed and put on a virus checker ... AVG and set up a firewall for her. 1st problem is that I can't access her control panel ..... It comes up as "Access to Specified file denied" and the 2nd problem is that under her favourites folder on the web comes up with porn sites ..... she deletes them and then when she checks back ..... they are back in her favourites folder again ........ she is the only one using her computer at the moment. > Thanks > Sophie Regards, John Durham (list moderator) <http://modecideas.com/contact.html?sig> Freelists login at //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi List archives at //www.freelists.org/archives/pchelpers PC-HELPERS list subscribe/unsub at http://modecideas.com/discuss.htm?sig Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
