You heard wrong.
The 80 mm Planar is one of the very best lenses, most other Zeiss/Hasselblad lenses cannot touch.
People hold it in low esteem, i think, because it's the 'standard' lens.
But even the fabeled 100 mm Planar has great troubles bettering the 80 mm (and mostly fails to do so).

The 60 mm is very good ***for a retrofocus wide angle lens*** !
But not on par with the 80 mm.
