Thank you Carl.. I never would have suspected it.. I have installed a world
clock program, that shows the time allover the world. I keep it at US EST and
my own Eastern Australian time. It also has a calandar selectable forward and
backwards and a world map showing the night and day .. I have been fascinated
by the daily change of the shadow as it now is about to change from a sine wave
to square.. Bust most of all there is a square with a picture of the phases of
the moon. which changes daily.. I come in from a gaze at the real moon, and
I'd swear there was a telescope on my roof. But it is of cause a simulation,
which is synchronised with a web based time site.
Now I am about to check it out by counting the days.. It seemed to me that the
recent new moon lasted 2 days.but I'll look more closely.

I'll let you all know how it turns out..

  Philip,

The lunar cycle rounds to 29.5 days. The Jewish calendar alternates
between 29 and 30 day months. Because 12 times 29.5 is only 354 days,
an intercalary 13th month is added every third year to keep the seasons
  in line.

missed something.. I always use the 13 month year for my finances...
