I was thrown off the forum ... thank God.

Neville.

I appreciate what you are saying Neville, and how you feel .. The fact that
mathmatically an hour or even 7 decades of years of supreme and extreme torture
is as nothing, relative to an eternity of bliss, the principle that any torture
is un acceptable is a hard one to argue against.

I argue it with God always, and always get the same answer.. "My ways are not
your ways" .

We have little choice in the matter. God who is pure but seems cruel, or Satan
who is impure and a liar, claiming to oppose cruelty.

You asked in another post 'where does Christ ask us to kill our witches'.

Even though He may never had spoken it in as many words, He often spoke of the
punishment due to those who lead tempted souls into perdition. Surely it is a
command by implication to do whatever was necessary to protect such souls from
these predators.

The inquisition was a way where even the predator was given the opportunity of
achieving salvation whilst being prevented from ever changing his mind.
Society has no serious objection to Capital punishment as just for the murder
of another man physically. Yet we object to harsh punishment for those who kill
the soul. Jesus clearly distinguished which was the greater evil.

At least his suffering on the fire , as bad as it may seem to be, could never
equal that which Jesus offered, having no guilt whatsoever.

Philip.
But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it
were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that
he should be drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of
scandals. For it must needs be that scandals come: but nevertheless woe to that
man by whom the scandal cometh. 8 And if thy hand, or thy foot, scandalize
thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee. It is better for thee to go into life
maimed or lame, than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into everlasting
fire. 9 And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee. It
is better for thee having one eye to enter into life, than having two eyes to
be cast into hell fire.

  Philip,

I was on a Karaite forum some time back and the topic of "being too soft" was
brought up. Some thought that we should be going around doing what the Torah
"commands" us to do. You know, killing people and stuff, since God "has not
changed, so why should we be ignoring what He said?"

Some stated that we would then be locked away in prisons and lunatic asylums.

All hell broke loose and a huge argument ensued.

I suggested that they should all become vegetarians.

Needless to say, I was thrown off the forum ... thank God.

  Neville.

    Dear Allen,

Well for once I think you have posted something in which I have total
agreement..

You don't happen to come from Salem do you? (grinning profusely)

Traditional Catholic literature has an article "Bring back the
Inquisition."

We are a soft generation. That is why most deny the existence of Hell, and
the rest are unhappy about it. Why? Because nobody has proof of the spirit. Its
all a matter of faith.

I remember some saints prayer.. 'My God I believe in thee, help me in my
un-belief.."

    Philip.

Funny you brought this up i was just reminiscing about how at Halloween
some of my secular friends have asked me what am I going to dress up as for
Halloween...I tell them as the Grand Inquisitor..to hunt down and burn the
witches....they say "what a evil/ terrible or awfully thing to say or be....I
say well Halloween is all about evil and scary anyway....so I can't see your
objection to "evil" and since I would hunt down and burn the witches ..... I
guess if you were a witch that would be scary right?....funny they never seem
to be able to get the punch line..... Im not suggesting there were no abuses
that took place but neither am I suggesting that it was entirely bad either
...today.... no witch hunts and more devil/occults worship and witches then
ever......... ummmm..... Kill God ....."let freedom ring"...................???
