This discussion on minor edits seems to be endless.

Minor edits are useful for spelling corrections and the like, where's no need for the feed readers and the email subscribers to know. However there is a danger with minor edits: it may be abused for silently entering spam. So I think the minor edit option should be available for logged in users only.

Then, there's the question of a checkbox vs. determination through a script. A checkbox would offer more control but is also more effort for the wiki authors. I like the computed solution better and it has the advantage of keeping the interface as simple as it is now.

Finally, there's the question whether summaries should be required. I pointed out already that the default should behave as it behaves now. If you add an option for 'requiresums', just go ahead. I think it's certainly useful in some cases but not in all.

So, all that will change is that when a logged in user makes a change of less than two lines, it will be marked as a minor edit and will not be included in the feed nor will subscribers get a mail. In the recent changes history minor edits are visible but greyed out. - Can all of us live with that?
