Julie, The OCR package is designed to remove pictures. What I usually do, is just label the captions as well captions, and leave it up to the rest. After all, if we were getting this book read by NLS that is what we would get. I can't describe pictures too, though it does bug me sometimes, smile, as I used to be able too. There are a few books though in the collection that NEED the picture descriptions, and luckily I had a friend willing to sit and describe with me. We were two very bored college students in a dorm with no TV or Internet, or phone, smile. Well I won't say No TV we got NBC, CBS and ABC, which when the President is having a speech, means we get no choice to watch him or turn it off. We got a lot of scanning done with my computer.
