Haven't really had any problems doing any kind of hat.  Visors are a little 
tricky because you have such a limited area to sew on (height).  The most 
problems we've had was when we first got the machines and had to relearn how 
to do embroidery.  Because there were no tension knobs,  now you have 
material thickness.  I think these machines are more sensitive than the 
emt-10t  because you never had to change anything you just sewed.
