I belive you. But, if I see the behavior with less than five users, I would think MS would be interested in fixing it. -----Original Message----- From: Bernd Harzog [mailto:bernd@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, October 03, 2002 3:49 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: latency Folks, I am not advocating the use of TScale as the general solution to this problem, but we have several reports from customers who have used TScale for its intended purpose (to increase the number of concurrent users per server), and that a happy side effect of TScale optimizations has made these typing delays go away. The most common report is from customers who are using Lotus Notes with MetaFrame and Win2K. I have heard others report this issue. Unfortunately, PSS has apparently no method to troubleshoot this issue excpet by giving them an image of your system and running benchmark tools. At leasts, that is what they are telling me. They also claim no one else has this issue. But, you are about the 8th site I have heard with this issue. -----Original Message----- From: Schneider, Chad M. It occurs in both when using Lotus Notes and Word. It has started getting bad again now that all the staff is back from holidays. I have done some searching on thethin archives, and found reference to "a small program that measures latency" but I was unable to find this tool in the downloads. Anybody know where I can get this to objectively measure the latency? We do hae speedscreen defined, and I have seen discussion regarding setting the cursor blink rate (although I'm unclear whether that should be set high or low). I am also going to go looking around tweakcitrix.com, but still I would appreciate any suggestions from you folks. Thanks.
