Doug, I wouldn't stand one one foot waiting for the manufacturers to increase quality and prices. People want "cheap products". Why do you think Wal-mart is so successful? We as businessmen have to accept this as our new environment to which we must adapt or perish. I always thought that NESDA could have done alot more for the service industry by working on issues like; Standardization of warranty proceedures and electronic entry formats. Standardization of manual distribution format. Product serviceability (such as all projos should have a rermoveable light box, etc). Work with the membership to develop a useful universal, comprehensive call/claim management system for automating the industry. Lobby for better rates or better methods of repairing inexpensive items. ( such as not requiring component level repair) Well, you get the idea...I could go on...
