Thanks Bob, for the info. I will check that program out. You may not have seen
some of the additional information I put on some of the replies. I am running
windows 98 and the bios is about the only place I haven't been on this
computer. However the person that was trying to help was in the bios and
deleted or made some changes. Paul

Need to know a bit more about your computer, operating system and
type of bios... I had the same problem after a power failure and some of the
bios settings changed.. In my search to find a cure I found an AWESOME
(free) program that tells you after installing, EVERYTHING about you
computer, along with updates your system should have..Its called Aida32... I
think you will be very impressed with this program... If you can't find
through search let me know I have the program at home..

CD-Rom and turning the computer on then off and reconnect to see if it would
recognize it and there is no evidence that it is in the computer at all.
Can' t un-install because there is nothing to un-install. CD-Rom is running
when a disc is put in.I do not have the installation disc. But it probably
wouldn't install it anyway. It was working fine until I tried to run
automan. Had problems and have not been able to use CD-Rom since. Had a
computer tech try to get automan to run and he removed some things. Don't
know if this caused a problem or not. Any ideas beside buying a new one ?
