If your ide controllers are running in dos mode they will not recognize the cdrom. If they are, it is probably because other devices are installed several times. barrystv@xxxxxxx Barrys TV Ottawa Canada ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul" <dntwntv@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 07, 2004 6:49 PM Subject: [TechAssist] CD-Rom > Computer dose not recognize the CD-ROM. Have tried disconnecting the CD-Rom and turning the computer on then off and reconnect to see if it would recognize it and there is no evidence that it is in the computer at all. Can' t un-install because there is nothing to un-install. CD-Rom is running when a disc is put in.I do not have the installation disc. But it probably wouldn't install it anyway. It was working fine until I tried to run automan. Had problems and have not been able to use CD-Rom since. Had a computer tech try to get automan to run and he removed some things. Don't know if this caused a problem or not. Any ideas beside buying a new one ?
