Barry, nothing in the control panel, the system or device manager shows that there is a CD-Rom. Have checked drives and everywhere I can think of. One bit of information that I should have included. My desktop still shows the cd-rom icon. When I click on that it says D:\ folder has been moved or removed. Have tried disconnecting the CD-Rom and turning the computer on then off and reconnect to see if it would recognize it and there is no evidence that it is in the computer at all. Can' t un-install because there is nothing to un-install. CD-Rom is running when a disc is put in.I do not have the installation disc. But it probably wouldn't install it anyway. It was working fine until I tried to run automan. Had problems and have not been able to use CD-Rom since. Had a computer tech try to get automan to run and he removed some things. Don't know if this caused a problem or not. Any ideas beside buying a new one ?
