Hi Paul,

Set the BIOS to default (there is often an option on the main menu to
set for Best Performance or something similar). If you can't find this
then remove the battery (often a coin shaped watch battery) from the
motherboard for 30 seconds or more, after pulling the power cord.

Does the CDROM work OK when you are not in Windows? (try a bootable
CD, such as Windows 2000 or XP).
