You should be aware that there are errors in the testing don for X2Y
capacitors. Our tests show that they perform no better than 0402 two terminal
capacitors.

Ivor, search on this list for an interesting (and hot) discussion, around ten
years ago, regarding 0402 vs. X2Y capacitors tests and the validity of the
published work (specifically, regarding the test vehicles).
You can find a work mentioned in that thread (John Zazio, 2003) on Lee
Ritchey's website speedingedge.com , but don't know where are currently hosted
the works of Steve Weir.
BTW, Could someone post a link to these files, please?

So, if an X2Y capacitor is properly mounted the <insert metric here>

Johanson Dielectrics has downloadable spice models available from

They should be usable in ADS using the ADS 'Hspice Compatibility
Component' Wizard. (in fact I just confirmed that they import OK).

Subject: [SI-LIST] X2Y equivalent circuit model
Hi Si expert
I was looking for a good circuit model for X2Y capacitor to be used
in my ADS circuit simulation
on internet I found this

but when I tried to implemented it, something was wrong The
impedance vs freq. shapes on log/log scale does not seem correct
can someone give to me any feedback or good reference to look for?
thanks in advance
