IIRC, the layout that was used came from the Johanssen website. It was
wrong, and was not optimized. Furthermore, the measurements were taken
from a considerable distance away from the capacitors, such that spreading
inductance across the plane pairs tended to dominate. The impact of ANY
capacitor on bypass decreases asymptotically with distance, because of
spreading inductance.
