It's in the slides... Sam As a point of clarification. You not only need the die PDS capacitance, you also need the die PDS series resistance. The Q of the circuit is dependent upon the series resistance in the PDS circuit. If this is not modeled correctly, you will not see the correct resonance peaks, and without knowing the resistance, it's not possible to perform an optimal impedance match with the die. regards, scott Scott McMorrow Teraspeed Consulting Group LLC 121 North River Drive Narragansett, RI 02882 (401) 284-1827 Business (401) 284-1840 Fax http://www.teraspeed.com TeraspeedR is the registered service mark of Teraspeed Consulting Group LLC Sam Chitwood wrote: > Hi everyone, > > David may be referring to my original BIRD95 case study presentation: > http://www.vhdl.org/pub/ibis/summits/jan05/chitwood.pdf > (Thanks David for the nice comments!) > > A follow-up SSO study on IBIS package model choices and example > effectiveness of PCB decoupling: > http://www.vhdl.org/pub/ibis/summits/oct06b/chitwood.pdf > > And finally, a thorough discussion of how to build the best possible IBIS > package models for SSO applications: > http://www.vhdl.org/pub/ibis/summits/feb08/chitwood.pdf > > And remember to ask the silicon vendor for the die PDS capacitance... :-) > > Thanks, > Sam > > > -----Original Message----- > From: si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:si-list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On > Behalf Of David Lieby > Sent: Tuesday, January 13, 2009 4:27 PM > To: si-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [SI-LIST] Re: Where are IBIS models with SSO support ? > > Several years ago I saw a paper by someone (I have forgotten the name of the > author) that detailed the use of IBIS files in HSPICE to get an idea of SSO > in a system.
