1. Another gorgeous day here in New York with temperatures predicted to be in
the fifties all week long. the sun is shining. There is no wind and Melody
celebrated by going over the fence again this morning. She does it every so
often. to keep me on my toes. She likes to come around to the front door and
wait for me to let her back in.
2. Jack is beaming from ear to ear cause his team OKLAHOMA is going to the
Orange Bowl to knock the socks off USC. My god his team has got Moses and Lance
and Antonio and Brown not to mention JASON WHITE. You have to understand it was
a family conflict as my cousin Dave is Colorados Assist coach but actually
Colorado did well to get to the Big 12 Championship game. Its the toughest
league in College Football. Who the hell is USC but some guy named Reggie.
3. Personally I enjoyed watching The Army Navy game. I watch it every year. I
am a navy fan so the win was satisfying but i think the all over record is
pretty even. Anyway its a really clea
n game. No solicited players. No special privileges for athletes. No athletic
scholarships. Everyone is on Scholarship there and the players are playing for
the honor of the service. Philadelphia hosts two games every year. THE PENN
CORNELL game and one week later ARMY NAVY...by the way Harvard was undefeated
this year wonder if they will get any Bowl bids.
4.The discussion on longevity is very interesting. I do suspect however that
what is living longer is veterinary medicine. in order to truly study longevity
in animals one has to go to studying multiple births. the septuplets have two
children with health problems. the original dionne quints had two who were
weaker then the others.even in twins one twin is usually stronger then the
other.In the animal kingdom multiples are there to insure survival.Among people
100 years ago huge families were the norm because they had to work the farms
and businesses. some would not survive and children were property and added to
the fami
lies wealth.In some cultures where polygamy existed some men had up to a
hundred wives and several hundred children. in some parts of the world they
still do.anyway people are living longer now thanks to advances in medicine.
