I live in Fort Collins and it rained here, no snow whatsoever. Thats the way
it is in Colorado, drive 20 miles and the weather can be totally different. I
have a 55 mile commute to work and I have driven through changing weather in
just that amount of time. You know, I really don't understand all of this
worry about the weather 2 years from now when we are all getting ready to go to
NC at the tail end of one of the most destructive hurricane seasons in a long
time !! I have been showing dogs for about 15 years, and in that time have
been to shows during rain, hail, snow, and blistering heat. There is no
perfect place or time for a dog show. But who goes to a dog show only if the
weather is perfect? We who have shown have had incredible experiences showing
dogs under horrible conditions, and yet we still do it don't we?? Instead of
all this worry lets tell some stories about showing our dogs under incredible
conditions, I know you all have at least one !! I remember sh
ows in Oklahoma where it was raining/sleeting and so cold I had to put socks
on my hands to try to keep warm as I didn't prepare for it. The ground was so
cold the water wasent soaking in and was just a big puddle to stand in. By the
sunday it was snowing and I was praying my flight would get out before they
cancelled it. But what a fun show it was, no one was complaining we all just
talked about dogs and betting on the horse races in the bar!!

Subject: Re: SNOW

No snow at the show site or in my yard 20 minutes from there. In the 70's,
by the weekend. Bunch of semi's going too fast, piled up on 70. It'll be
clear this morning. These early snows are "warm" snows and while great for
skiiers and the water table, don't last on the highways and front range.
See how much I learned in 17 short months?
