An oral critique by a judge at ringside is usually an attempt to justify some blunder that was made in the ring by the judge. What a judge does in the ring is their opinion or that show in that date and if I the exhibitor disagree I have the option of not showing under the judge again. The worst thing a judge can do is come out of the ring and apologize for something that they did in the ring. This gives me the feeling that the next time that judge is in the ring he will be doing someone a favor. In my opinion clubs create problems when they have back to back shows and select two judges that are worlds apart on what they like and dislike in a German Shepherd. When they select completely different dogs the exhibitors complain that something is wrong, fixed or whatever. Clubs should wake up and select their judges accordingly.
