Thank you Jamie..I was worried at first that you might take what I said as
directed at you or that I thought you weren't doing something
correctly..this is not the case at all.. As stated..a yearly continuing
education class would be one positive step. if you are a breeder and a
signer of the code..the education should be a priority..who could possibly
argue with learning more either about the breed..training..handling..or
other venues? Plus it shows that the breeder is open to learning more and
improving. As for the PC and litigation..this is why I state that a clear
disclaimer be made that the Breeders code is not an endorsement of the
breeder..that is it a voluntary code that is signed without inspection of a
breeders facility. many novice buyers take the BC as meaning the "Good
housekeeping seal of Approval" they see it as an endorsement. I also heard
today that there have been former PC members..that are no longer members
advertising they are a BC signer to promote puppy sales..somehow this needs
to stop. Some of the points I made about breeding choices reflect the
change in technology..and more knowledge about breeding. Some of the points
in the BC that I mentioned are the very reasons I haven't signed it. I
would like for it to be stronger..in some areas...and possibly delete some
portions...look forward to hearing about what you plan to present. Christine
