That was beautifully expressed. it should go into every Specialty Premium
list in bold letters.
The last shows I was secretary for were in 2000. I was secretary for both
GSDC of St. Louis, and Southern Illinois GSDC in conjunction with the Midwest
Futurity. Ten days before closing I had to be hospitalized. People were hand
delivering entries to me at the hospital. The dual Specialty catalog was done
using a TYPEWRITER, then taken to Office Max to be printed the day before the
shows, then brought home, collated, folded, and stapled. I was there to
steward at both Specialties, and help sell catalogs. There was one typo. I
misspelled the name of one of our Judges! I fixed his copy, before I gave it
to him
after the show. (Sorry about that Paul "Poot"...ROOT.) <G> Was the hard work
worth it...you betcha!
The Futurity was on Mother's Day. I did no work that day, I sat and enjoyed
watching Angie Stegner judge, and was given some beautiful flowers from the
Southern Illinois Club. (Yep, I am a Mom, and a granny too.)
On the following day, I marked several catalogs, signed them, sent them to
AKC, The Review, The ROM chairs, and the GSDCA. I had surgery two weeks later.
Our St. Louis Club is blessed to have had Gail Stiefferman Chair our last
several shows, and Denise Bussey for Secretary. these ladies work so hard to
make our shows a success, and I don't think they ever get enough praise, and
thank yous. Thank you again Dania, for your beautiful words. To all the hard
working Show Chairs, and Secretaries out there..Bless you all for loving our
Breed enough to take on the job.
