Oh YES --- our own Max instigated these solids and
one named ROLAND is pictured in an old GSD book,
can't really remember it's name - I'll need to think on this.
BUT --- A man in Florida had a kennel years ago that
he named - Roland Standard Kennel - as he attempted
to pattern a black strain of GSDs after this color.  So
the first solid black was a German dog incorporated in
all the pedigrees --- I'll let you folks know the name of
the book when it comes to me but it was years ago.
