That is my experience. I find the original screen in my MX-EVS provides quicker and more positive focus than the microprism screen in my 3.5F, even though the brighter image helps in viewing, especially under dim ambient illumination. There appears to be a trade-off between these two qualities, with my preference an original ground glass plus Rolleigrid fresnel screen. When light permits, however, I let my viewfinder screen go commando.
