Yes, see what I just posted about that*.  It's best to use the 
Task Manager first.

*Be very careful of that.  That so-called "X" is usually NOT
really an X, but just part of the image!  You click it and it's
like clicking the popup!  The best thing to do in situations
like that is to look a at the Task Manager, then find the popup
in it probably under the "Applications" tab, or if not there
possibly under the "Processes" tab.
