   Not only is downloading something like this a hoax, but it is in  
itself a malware, whether a virus or spyware. Clicking on it poses a  
security risk. The best thing to do when you see a popup that says you  
need to download an antivirus or antispyware program is to click on  
the x that is in the upper right-hand corner and close it. Never click  
on the ad.

   You don't really nee to launch the program for the pop-up to appear  
on your screen, though this would appear that a spyware program was  
sneaking right through your internet explorer. The best thing to do is  
restore your computer to a previous date, and to remember to never  
click on one of those ads. Spybot may not be able to take care of it,  
as it shows up as an anti-spyware program, not spyware itself.
