Ok. Like I've been saying, you're going to have wait for someone that uses Nero for them to go into more detail. It's possible, POSSIBLE, the CD got damaged with whatever you did to it--deleting the files--IF, IF, the software is not compatible. CD's are flaky and it's possible even if the software is the same, something got screwed up. Also like I said, you cannot remove data from a CDR disk. You can only remove the REFERENCE to it. So you could delete the entire contents of a CDR and you won't get anymore space. If data on a CD is corrupted, well, it's corrupted and can't be read or copied. Otherwise you could open the file in Notepad like Hugh said, and possibly see it, but that would only work with text type files, not any kind of images, PDF, etc. "The previous data would not be readable under Windows" I take to mean it can't be read period. You need to find out what software they used to create the CD's. If it's not Nero, maybe they can be "fixed" by them just by opening them, or by a utility. Roxio has a "Scandisk" utility that SOMETIMES, MIGHT fix unreadable disks, but it may only work for Roxio-created disks. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Grossman" Clint, the client used CDR media, not CDRW, so there's no issue of deleting a file. I wanted to add data to a multisession CDR disk that had been saved under UDF. As far as the second issue, as I wrote previously I want to know whether I damaged the disk. I wrote, "I tried to add data to a multisession disk, but Nero said that it would not fit. I removed some data [apparently not enough] but received the same message. The third time I tried, after removing a lot of the data, Nero said that the previous data would not be readable under Windows. I tried to see it in a command window - no joy. How can I view and copy the previous data? Is there a way to make it readable under Windows?"
