Cristy, There's not a whole lot of difference between a great gaming rig and one designed specifically for movie editing. Both require the a good processor and a lot of good memory. Dual-channel mode might as well be considered another 'must have' for both, too. But I would also add that the chipset that the mainboard is based on plays a huge role as well. After those 3 Core items, the differences start to show more. If he actually took the time to look it up, then either he didn't do a good enough job of that OR perhaps they have a specific "Geek Squad" database they use for such things and the database itself is the culprit.
