I'm catching up with past posts. If someone commented then Sorry. FYI in XP's regular mode Right Click the task bar --> Click Properties The Task Bar and Start menu Window should open--> Click the Start Menu Tab on Top (make sure Start menu is clicked) and--> Click the Customize Button. The Customize Start Menu Window Opens --> Click the Advanced Tab on top. Now look at the middle of the window for Start Menu Items: Scroll through To see how your Control Panel will be displayed (one of three options) 1) Display asa Link 2) Display as a Menu 3) Don't Display This Item. You can change the following items (My Computer, My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, Network Connections, System Admin Tools along with a few other items) in the same way using the above directions. I never understood the logic behind the grouping of Control Panel objects from day one (~ 2002) and still wonder what they were smoking when they designed the arrangement. Switching over to classic mode is one of the first things I do on every system I install, so I have no idea where it might be in yours. To get to it another way, open up RUN, type in firewall.cpl and hit the ENTER key.
