Fred, I wonder if this is just a drive letter issue, since it doesn't happen on other systems. Right-click on My Computer and select Manage. In the resulting window, click on Disk Management and you'll get a view of all of the recognized drives properly recognized the system, even if they are not assigned a drive letter. If you see one using the name of the USB key, let me know and I'll explain how to give it a new letter to use (if needed).
