I don't know if it's just me or what, but I use a 19" Samsung SyncMaster912N
that's an LCD and I love the graphics, they were amazing after the CRT, but
I have to say that the fonts "to me" are not nearly as crisp as on a CRT.
And if I try to change the resolution, the software doesn't like it and the
screen goes black with a message bouncing around telling me I'm not at the
"optimal resolution" I tried just going into my settings and changing the
font size and my only choices were small (like is on the 1280 x 1024 optimal
resolution) or large. I did change it to large and loved it for email, but
it made a lot of my programs not view correctly so I put it back to small.
I have a hard time putting the cursor between two letters sometimes to
insert a letter that should have been there, especially like with the
letters "i; j; or l" together.

But that just my opinion. It has definitely lasted longer than the 2 CRT's
I went thru........even tho one CRT was still under warranty and I got it
replaced (after I paid for shipping the darn thing to them).
Make sure you read your warranty so that you don't have to ship something
off and pay a fortune in shipping costs!

Sandy

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Monitor size, resolution and visibilty

screen large enough for her to see clearly. That makes it difficult to work
on her computer and you must constantly scroll left and right to see
everything. That is a real pain when reading text. (thats the setup for
what comes next)

600x480 the icons on the desktop are large. If I increase the resolution to
800x600 or 1024x768 the icons become medium and small.

will the physical size of the icons be the same as they were on the CRT?
Think visibilty here.

640x480. Will "The quick brown fox jumped over" be visible on the
widescreen without sacrificing visibilty?

maintain visibilty and at the same time reduce or eliminate the need for
scrolling left and right. Can that be done?
