No, but I have seen and listened to tons of ads promoting the programming carried by broadcasters. And i do remember when color TV was introduced that there were MANY promos pushing the wonders of color TV.
A better question to ask, is why, just months after most radio stations started to upgrade to digital broadcasting, radio broadcasters are spending more than $500 MILLION in generic promotions of HD Radio, with significant participation by the CE industry and the automobile industry.
