Yeah...I hate to say this Nan, but it's sounding more and more like that pst file is corrupt....it's just too dang big, I think. Here's what I'm saying...Open Outlook with that big pst (if you can)...then go to the File menu and select New>Outlook Data File and open a brand new one...then just drag some of your folders from the old one to the new one (using the folder list...View>Folder List), just like you drag stuff in Windows Explorer. Don't drag them all, or you will end up with a new pst that's just as big as your old pst. Create a couple new ones...name them different things that identify them. Think of them kind of like folders in themselves and think of your existing folders as subfolders of them. Does that make sense? And yes, the eventual outcome is that you get rid of that bad pst file (or at least get it down to a size where the Inbox Repair Tool can finish scanning it and repair it) and replace it with the new smaller multiple ones. Hope that's clearer. And, if anyone else wants to jump in here and help Nan with this, I'd appreciate it. Linda F. Well, I've tried the Inbox Repair Tool several times now, and each time = have had the same problem. I'm just wondering the end goal, to get an idea of where I'm heading. Thanks for trying to help me. I'm sorry it takes me so long to respond = - very long hours at my day job.
