I have one, she has one. They're just not the sort of lives that would
appeal to others.<g> But it was as if Bill had bought the weather. You
could have set the box down, framed it with the sky and never seen the
edges of the box.

And for just a touch of perspective on how far things have come in the
intervening 8 years, the first of the "Enterprise Ready" Compaq Intel
servers were on site (with Jay Leno) and running MSN (also released that
day) at a blazing 166 Mhz, with RAID5 arrays able to store 16 Gigs of
data.

Oh, and there were MIME's (the human type) in silver paint all over the
place. The temptation to strangle one was almost overpowering. Thanks to
that incredibly geeky event, I got to do some other things. 6 months
later, I met Dian for the first time. Another 15 months after that passed
before we met a second time...at O'Hare...on our way to Microsoft...and a
big change of our lives. Some things just shouldn't be open source at
all.<g>
