My point which you are evading is that we are in a war against Militant Islam

Nonsense. I am not evading that point. I'll state it clearly: we are not in a war against "militant Islam". We were in a war against the Nazi and Tojo Japan. That was a war. This is not a war. This is ordinary terrorist activity that can be handled just as Europe dealt with terror in the 70s and 80s.

You are exaggerating the situation to suit your war fantasies and your extreme racist opinions about Arabs and Islam.

You also use the phony "threat of militant Islam" to accuse others of being Leftists, pacifists, Liberals, treasonists, anarchists, and lesbian vegetarians.

Frankly, you enjoy Islamofascism. If it didn't exist, you'd be bored.

and Schultz has offered his opinions about what we ought to do. That
is the point of the article.

He is a liar. He confused the issue by pretending that we were passive in the 80s and should do something now. He is lying because he has to cover up the fact that his adminstration was a major factor in creating the problem.

You want to change it to a Leftist-quibble in
order to keep on moving on to blame America in some way, finding some way to
blame America instead of Militant Islam.

Oh, here you go again. To insist on historical accuracy is now a "Leftist" crime? That's really funny. Hey, I'll play your game. The world was created 15 days ago by the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Anyone who denies that is a Leftist.

What an evil thing to oppose the USSR you suggest.

Nope. Wrong again. First you state that the US never was involved in supporting Islam. When I point out that the US indeed supported militant Islamofascism in the Cold War against the USSR in Afghanistan, you then decide that I'm a Leftist for saying that. In other words, you then realize that US did indeed support militant Islam, so you get out of admitting the point by accusing me of being against Islamofascism.

Yes, I read about the Afghan war against the USSR at a time when the
information closest to real-time came from Soldier of Fortune magazine.

Well, that explains quite a bit!

I knew about the war because I had a number of Afghani friends, plus I knew many Persians, plus people in the US State Dept. We followed the events from start to finish, talking about it, discussing it, etc.
