OK so let's ask it the other way round. Is it just Horizon who have
embedded bitmaps in BGl file so users can't get at them?

Are the default FSX textures also BGL files and the sim has no textures
other than the DDS files wrapped round aircraft?

The main texture folder consits of *.DDS and *.BMPs
The scenery\world\texture folder is all *.BMPs
