Hi all,
maybe someone has tried running VLC on Haiku already. It crashes in the
CPUCapabilities function. The code can be found here:

I don't have much of a clue... but it looks to me like it tries various
extension commands and wants to catch any exceptions itself to see if a
particular command is supported or not. Since it crashes on Haiku, I
supposed that the signal rerouting is not working correctly.
