I know I'm a little slow with this thing, but with the little time I
have, I'm trying to do five thousand different things at the same time.
:-O With my job moving farther away, that means getting up earlier and
getting home later, so I won't have NO time during the week! :-( I'm
hell bent on getting this thing working perfectly this time. Although I
like the look of SUSE, I'm not willing to pay for something that I
thought was free! <shrug>

It's very much free. :) The packaging, however, isn't. Also, the Professional edition has commercial software in it (I believe), so they charge for that.

And the look can be achieved with anything. If I recall correctly, SuSE
uses KDE with a slightly modified theme. You can get KDE for anything that
runs X. :)

Something to keep your eye out for is a Linux Eval pack from Novell; I have
SuSE 9.1 Pro or something as well as various other SuSE- and
Novell-branded stuff from Novell, all on three DVDs (bootable SuSE, others
are all ISOs). They even pay for shipping.

I've seen them give it out twice; if I hear about it again (they tossed an
email to all of us the second time around) and remember, I'll mention it
here.
