Correct,  I halso had a 4C.  This scanner did not support a document 
feeder at all.

Hi Vicky:
I don't think the 4C supports a automatic document feeder.  I have two 
4C's,
I bought from Arkenstone when they were cleaning out there OpenBook
supplies, they are a very good machine.
