Indeed, hold onto that scanner, if you can.

As legal sized scanners aren't easy to get ahold of now.

However, if you want a change, explore the Epson line the Epson 3170 and 
4180 are excellent ideas, and if you can get your hands on a 1660 you will 
be cooking.

heck if you can and have both you will be one of the most well equipt 
scanners, smile.

And I will be majorily jealous.

I am using a computer using Kurzweil version 8, demo, and openbook 6.
I am using an HP2.  I get good scans with the scanner.
Back when Open book 6 came out, I called FS and ask them if I should get a
newer scanner.  There answer was essentially,
Hold on to that scanner as long as you can.
If your HP3 works. stay with it.
If Guido is listening though I would like his input.
