Susan,
If you can find the Epson Perfection series of scanners--specifically the
Epson Perfection 3170 scanner, you'll find it an excellent choice. It's
rare to find the Epson Perfection 1660, but, if you can, it's one of best on
the market.

I'm in the process of getting a new computer, with windows xp professional.
I plan to install Kurzweil 9 and Openbook 6. Has anyone used the Epson
Perfection 4180 scanner with either Openbook or Kurzweil? How does it
