NLS books will be similar to RFB&D books in that they will need an authorization key on the player for a user to play them. I suspect that the time periods are uncertain because NLS needs to come up with an authorization system which will allow users to purchase machines and then easily obtain keys as authorized users and apply them to the machines. Setting up a system like this takes careful planning and forethought, because it has to be flexible and accurate and easy. The NLS folks probably can't be exacting about when this will all happen, but I suspect they re working on it and it will happen within the very near future. Remember, this system has to be workable for all eligible citizens where ever they reside, allowing them to securely and easily register their players and obtain keys for the machines. They will proceed carefully and cautiously, but they will do it right and it shouldn't take too long I wouldn't think. Only qualified patrons will get the NLS software, that's between Humanware and NLS to sort out. But it seems the Victor stream and the Bookport Two will be the least expensive ways to get an NLS player.
