It does handle text as it has a built-in TTS engine, specifically, Nuance
Vocalizer or something to that affect.  Another plus for the BP2 however
which I forgot to mention in my last post is the note taker feature which I
intend to really put to use now that the BP2 will have a built-in speaker.

Far as I can see from what I've read, the only advantage it offers is a
speaker. That only for the things the two devices handle in common. It
doesn't handle text, Word, HTML BRF or other non-Daisy marked files except
for Audible, which I believe it plans to support. I think they felt they
needed to have something for these conventions to keep their name out there
and that's what they've thrown together. It may be available now, but not
many Daisy books are, regardless of what device you choose.
