Cy - If you're talking about speeding up the playback speed of lectures you record using the BP, there's no way to do that at all. What Dave was talking about was the pseudo-compression that you can get when using the transfer software to send an audio book (MP3 or Audible formats) from your PC to the Book Port. I guess you could copy the recording from the BP to the PC, then send it back through the transfer software and use that "compression" feature, but given the relatively poor quality of the original recording, I'd sort of hate to think about the result. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cy Selfridge" <cselfridge@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, March 09, 2007 9:12 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: Larry's revelations about the Bookport on ACB Radio Hi Dave, Well, that is what I thought before I read something to the effect that the ability to speed up or slow down the file is applicable to data files only? Really, I have not (I hope) completely lost my mind (now, those who know me can not express their opinions please....) I admit that I have not yet loaded an MP3 type file to my Bookport as yet so perhaps I should try it before I complain? Take care and thanks for the reply... Cy, the Ancient Okie...
