Hi Dave,
Well, that is what I thought before I read something to the effect that the
ability to speed up or slow down the file is applicable to data files only?
Really, I have not (I hope) completely lost my mind (now, those who know me
can not express their opinions please....)
I admit that I have not yet loaded an MP3 type file to my Bookport as yet so
perhaps I should try it before I complain?

Hi Cy!
You can already speed up (compress) speech on the MP3 files you transfer to
the bookport. So just go into the audio options of book port transfer and
just do it.
