Hi Mike,
One other thing that can be done before rejecting is to contact the
submitter of the book and see if there's anything they can do to improve the
situation. But in this case if the errors were throughout the book the only
thing to be done would be rescan, in which case the rejection notice will be
sufficiently informative.
