thanks Vic,
That's an interesting concept. I'll try that even if I don't fully
understand it.

You can continue to send RTF files saved from within Kurzweil but just to play safe here is my suggestion.
After doing a save as RTF in Kurzweil, open the file with either MS-word or WordPad.
With the file now open, Hit space then backspace. That is done just to let MsWord or WordPad know that there was something modified in the document cause if there was nothing changed, MsWord does not bother saving the document even if you press control-s.
Now save the file and you can safely upload.
There is a bug somewhere but I don't know whether it is with Kurzweil or with the bookshare program etcetera...
But if it is with Kurzweil, how come RTF files from Kurzweil can be openned with any wordprocessor? I don't know
hope this helps Vic ----- Original Message ----- From: "bud schwab" <budschwab@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, July 05, 2004 4:45 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Rich Text Format
I have been sending my books in rtf lately converted from kes. I hope this is ok since that's what I thought I read that was more desirable. Now I'm confused, I didn't know there was a problem. Please advise.
