Hi Cindy;

I kept the footnotes where it was in the book, but add a space then the number in parens, and then superscript including parens. Hope this helps.

oh, dear. I'd better check with Carrie. I'll soon be doing another big nonfiction and was planning to superscript the footnotes. You say Vivian put the numbers in parens at the end of the sentence, on the same line as the text? I guess if those are the only ones that show up, I'll have to do that, too

I downloaded both of your books, but I hate to tell you the footnotes (or whatever) are not super scripted, nor bracketed in anyway. Just a number at the end of a sentence. It worked for Vivian, though, so I am hoping maybe she can tell you something she does different. Maybe it is because she had parens around hers?

Empire of Liberty by Gordon S. Wood
A World at Arms: A Global History of World War II by Gerhard L. Weinberg

If you're not finding them by special Search or regular search, be sure language is not U.S. but every, and that PQ and all quality squares are blank. The language is British, not U.s.; the only way I found a book I just uploaded was to be sure I changed language to Any and unchecked all the quality squares.

Here is a book I proofed in Word and put the footnote numbers in superscript. I saved in rtf to upload it. If you find out that he superscript numbers aren't saved, please let me know so I don't waste time doing it any more

I didn't realize the tool preserved subscript and superscript. Does someone have a book suggestion I can look at so I can see how they are handled and if
they are the same as in Word. Just curious, you know. LOL
